Anna L. Farrin

LCSW, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor Practice Owner

About

Anna Farrin has devoted her career to supporting young children and families in finding healing and connection. Her journey began with a passion for early childhood development; after earning her degree in Human Development with a focus on Health and Human Services from Vanderbilt University in 1996, she worked in early intervention, where she saw firsthand the critical need for mental health services for young children. This experience led her to pursue her Master’s in Social Work at UNC-Charlotte, where she also completed a Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy in 2010.

Today, Anna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, and a Qualified Supervisor for Social Work Interns. With over two decades of experience, she has worked in diverse settings, including early intervention, residential treatment, foster care, and the day treatment program in Duval County Public Schools. She’s also deeply involved in the play therapy community, offering training for the Florida Association for Play Therapy, graduate students, parents, educators, and foster families.

In 2015, Anna opened The Healing Playroom to bring developmentally appropriate, client-centered therapy to children and families in Jacksonville. She believes in the transformative power of play to help children express themselves, heal, and build resilience. Anna finds particular joy in strengthening parent-child relationships, guiding parents in connecting with their children through the language of play.

Spends her free playtime at the beach, hiking, running, or on her yoga mat.
