About
Jessica Soto is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Play Therapist, specializing in helping children and families heal from trauma. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Liberty University, followed by a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy from Stetson University. Jessica is also an adjunct professor at Jacksonville University, teaching Introduction to Play Therapy to graduate level students. With her TraumaPlay Certification from the TraumaPlay Institute, Jessica brings a unique skill set to her therapeutic work, creating a compassionate and structured environment for trauma recovery. As a certified TraumaPlay therapist Jessica understands the importance of treating children who have experienced extreme stress related to chronic maltreatment, traumatic incidents, attachment disturbances, and interpersonal trauma. Jessica believes that every child and family has the power to heal through play, connection, and support.
Jessica is an active member of the First Coast Chapter of the Florida Association for Play Therapy. Her extensive experience includes providing play therapy for children in the child welfare system and within Duval County Public Schools, where she has helped children navigate the complexities of trauma, loss, and behavioral challenges. As a certified Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator, Jessica is also dedicated to strengthening parent-child relationships, guiding parents in understanding and meeting their child’s emotional and behavioral needs with empathy and consistency.
Jessica’s expertise allows her to work with children as young as 3, but she also enjoys supporting children under the age of 3 through sessions that actively involve a parent or caregiver, fostering early bonds and emotional security.
Jessica works at our Ponte Vedra location.
